Shoffy’s “Cat Cafe” Sounds Like Being In Love.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, LA-based producer and singer-songwriter Shoffy has the perfect new single to capture that innocent high of being in love.
From the first listen, “Cat Cafe” is a laid-back, carefree song. It’s different from his previous releases which are more production-heavy – this one, on the other hand, is fairly stripped and acoustic. The simple chord progressions in the guitar are paired with a simple, relaxed drum beat that just makes you feel good inside. There’s a kind of softness to the track that reminds you of a sunny day and wraps you up in warmth.
Shoffy paints a picture of loving someone. From ‘Cat cafe on Saturday // Hot chocolate with whip’ to “TikTok binge till the morning sun // And playing chess in bed,’ he talks about all the little things in his relationship that make him all the more in love with his partner. The singer is truly infatuated by this person and wants to stay in this paradise forever, singing “Don’t wake me up if this is a dream // ‘Cause now I got everything.”
All the elements of this track reflect the comfort of knowing someone. Shoffy sings, “You wore me in like your denim // And now we fit for good // Comfortable but the spark ain’t gone.” He’s reached the point where he’s at home with this person and everything is simple and makes sense. To him, this love is everything he needs and everything he could have asked for.
