Sam Tudor Releases “Perennials”.
Written by: Devyn Browne
Sam Tudor’s latest single, “Perennials”, needs to be on your radar. It’s the main single from Tudor’s upcoming album Two Half Words, and it serves its purpose wonderfully. Just one listen of the track will have fans and soon-to-be-fans alike excited for the upcoming release. Sonically, “Perennials” is the musical embodiment of a late night drive with someone you love. It’s chill and relaxing, but it still finds a way to dig right down and give you that euphoric, ‘main-character-in-an-indie-movie’ feeling. This track is a must have for all of your late night playlists.
Sam Tudor is one person, but also a collective of musicians from all across Canada, which gives Tudor’s music a very collaborative feel. About “Perennials”, Sam Tudor says, “It’s a song about watching the people we love struggle under the weight each of them carry, and the joy in watching them come to life when that weight is lifted. This experience is cyclical, we retreat inwards and re-emerge time and time again. In times like those, one can only hope we return to the world and our friends with grace, having learned something. Perennials get crushed each winter but the root stock holds on throughout.”
Look out for Sam Tudor’s upcoming album, Two Half Words, featuring this track!
