Treh LaMonte
I wasn’t to familiar with the name, but Treh LaMonte did make an impression!
The LaSalle, QC native made sure to represent his hometown by wearing a LaSalle sports team windbreaker, mentioning his city from the first moment he came on stage, and with his tattoo in ode to the area. LaMonte played songs like the popular “I’m Finessin”, “Wanting More”, and “Patience”. As a surprise to the audience, he brought guest LOTi to perform their track “Wanting More” together.
It would be a shame to not say this pun, but LaMonte did leave me wanting more!
Zach Zoya
I’m not sure what goes through your mind when you’re moments away from playing your first headline show in your (almost) hometown, but if there were any nerves in Zach Zoya’s mind it did not show. In fact, the singer/songwriter/rapper performed as if this was his 50th headliner.
Zoya and his five piece band played songs that were recently released, such as “Birthday Sex”, fan favourites such as “Start Over” and “Upper Hand”, and one from his older catalog; “Now it’s time to see who the day one fans are”, stated Zoya before playing “Who Dat?”.
Throughout the show, he invited special guests on stage to perform songs with him. For example, Soran was invited to sing two tracks, and Treh LaMonte reappeared on stage to perform with him as well.
Although Zoya did not sing my favourite song (“Come By Here”, but it’s okay), he and his team put on an amazing show, which people will be talking about in music history books in years to come.
