Toronto, ON @ The Drake Underground

The TRNSCPT crew took to The Drake Underground stage in Toronto, and did not disappoint. In an R&B set, artists Keanu Richal, EB3N, Pino, and Avenoir absolutely killed it.

Keanu opened the show with a strong hip hop and R&B set, including a cover of “Shot For Me” by Drake, and two of his own unreleased singles “Sky Bars'' and “The Show.” His ability to engage with the audience in his set is really what caught my attention; The Drake Underground is a very intimate concert venue, and Keanu did a great job of connecting with the crowd. The Toronto artist appropriately set the tone for a night of eclectic and well-developed R&B subgenres.

All the way from Edmonton, Alberta, EB3N followed and truly did not come to play. While his vocals were undeniably mesmerising, what stood out was his stage presence and dance skills. Any dancers in the crowd could tell you that the footwork EB3N incorporated is not something that comes easy. Personally, his set was my favourite.

Next, Toronto producer and singer Pino took the stage in a soulful set. With a 2000s influence, Pino seemed to have a large fanbase present in the crowd, and I can see why. His set felt true in capturing the essence and foundations of R&B, and I’m excited to watch this artist grow.

Last but not least, Avenoir headlined the show and for good reason. The artist has grown exponentially this year, opening for Chiiild –another TMEB favourite, working with Spotify: Fresh Finds, and now headlining a performance. Avenoir’s comfortability truly shined and overall it was a great end to a fun night.
