“My Own Soul’s Warning” is The Killers’ latest single that came out on June 17th with as artwork an iconic Native American’s face profile that every music lover has already seen on their Instagram Feed or Spotify Release Radar Playlist.

Musically speaking, it’s a really energetic song, with a sound that’s close to their last albums. The single is nothing new, to be honest, but a new single is always a great gift from the band to die hard fans like me. The perfect mix between brit rock and synth-pop is working well also this time.

It’s a really captivating song, ‘I tried going against my own soul’s warning but in the end, something just didn’t feel right’, with these lyrics Brandon makes us understand what the song is about from the beginning. “My Own Soul’s Warning” is a melancholic song, a song surrounded by the roar of regrets that consume us from the inside and ‘when I hit the ground, It made a messed up sound, And it kept on rattling through my days’. It’s a really introspective song, in which everyone of us could easily empathize with. It’s useless to go against our own soul’s warning, it’s impossible to run from the past, we must face it. But despite everything, at the end, ‘I just wanted to get back to where you are’.

And now, we just have to wait for the album.
