Canadian folk/pop artist by the name of Kellie Loder has been releasing music for a few years now, and they’ve only gotten better throughout the years. The Juno nominated singer has released an album, and a few singles along the way, and now they’re back with a music video for “Molded Like A Monster”. Read our interview with Kellie below.

You released a music video for “Molded Like A Monster”, how are you feeling?

Feels pretty great! It was a long time coming. It was filmed in late November of 2019 and I never knew the magnitude of relevance it would have for the way things are happening right now in the world. It was meant to be released earlier in the year but due to COVID-19, myself and my team chose June 3rd as the alternate date for release.

Why do you think, especially with today’s situation in the world, that the song and video are important?

Ultimately the song’s core message is that we are more the same than different. The video calls people to action. It calls people to educate themselves on issues that might not be a part of their own experiences. It calls people to drop the prejudice and realize the mold that has been created. It calls people to break it.

You released an album in 2018, could we expect another one soon?

I’m always working on new material. I’m not entirely sure I’ll release another album soon, but you’ll see new music getting released from me for certain, even if it comes in the form of single releases.

Have you been feeling more or less creative during quarantine?

I feel it’s about the same. I’ve never been that great at taking advantage of a large amount of time and doing one thing with it. I like to spread things out. Unless I’m writing for someone else’s project, I write when I feel like it and when I’m inspired to. Currently I have enough material that I’m happy with that I could probably make two or three full length albums. The hardest part is narrowing all your favorites down to 9-10 tracks.
