Driveaway Releases "Summer Song".

"Summer Song", the newest single from indie-pop trio Driveaway, is a melancholic ballad soaked in the sounds of sunny days. The tune is nostalgic and warm, recounting a relationship that never actually existed and all of the complicated and exciting feelings that come with it.
The guitar-driven and wistful verses give way to a cathartic chorus, with the satisfaction you hope for in a pop song. The Florida based band have really nailed the track on an auditory level, and if you don’t listen closely to the lyrics, it sounds like the song could be about a mellow day in the sun. The lyrics give us an entirely separate pay-off.
Compared to some of Driveaway’s older tracks, "Summer Song" is more delicate, both sonically and lyrically. The band’s lead singer Trenton Ropp said ‘this song started with a pretty light musical idea but ended up letting me dig deeper into my feelings, and heart, than I ever have with a Driveaway song before.‘
The musical risks Driveaway took in the making of "Summer Song" have definitely paid off, leaving the listener with the perfect happy/sad song to keep on repeat in 2021.
