Being featured on Juice WRLD’s album, making tunes for everyone to love, and now releasing his debut album Crazy, Clever is a name you should know. That’s if you haven’t already.

Like mentioned before, the Alabama Native artist is back with his new project, after years since his last project, titled Who Is Crazy?. The 13 track project has countless of amazing features like Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and Post Malone… just to name a few.

If this doesn’t impress you, I don’t know what will.

We got the chance to sit in on a press conference, via zoom, held by the lovely 1824 and Republic team.

Here are some questions asked by us and other press outlets + answers from Clever:

We love this idea of “If a Tim Burton character hopped off screen and made hip-hop.” Has it been difficult building an audience with this vision and imagery? - The Music Enthusiast
No, I think there’s a fan base for everyone.. not everybody will love me and my music- but I can’t focus any attention whatsoever on those that don’t. I have a great fan base that really loves what it is that I do- and my only job is to reach as many people as possible and give them all the option to love or hate it. But I wouldn’t say that it’s been difficult- although it may be an odd approach.. it’s definitely what I’m aiming at- and I think there are millions out there just like me.
You've been getting the attention of big artists, so how are you adapting to all of this attention and fame? - Rising Artists Blog
I was writing songs for some big artists years ago. I've been in the game for a while, but it's still a very humbling experience. It's still very exciting to see another big celebrity come in and give you some kind of praise. With 21 Savage, I think it was more of a quality control to sign me to a deal and then both reaching out to say 'you know we want you out here' kinda thing. I've definitely been blessed when it comes to co-signs and I cannot complain. It's funny to say that the second album will have more big features than the first one.
You’ve mentioned before that you've written in a lot of different genres before you started your solo project, do you have a favorite genre of music that you'd love to write for again / you'd love to explore more? - The Honey POP
For me, it's a lot more therapeutic to write my own music, of course, but I'm not opposed to writing other genres. You know, it was fun, but I kinda got stuck because I was doing a lot of reference tracks for people while writing songs. They would kinda dig my voice doing the pop thing, or pitching songs and telling me I should perform this record. When I write songs for other people, it takes the fun out of it for me, because it's not my escape anymore. It's me trying to write a song. I think I kind of got burnt out. I wouldn't mind writing for someone in the same genre though, for an artist, and make it more what I'm going for.
