On the flipped side of a grim reality filled with betrayal and heartbreak, "Houston Texas" searches for love and dream. Through words that ache, the award-winning international hip-hop artist Angelo communicates private emotions and painful experiences that otherwise can't be expressed. "Houston Texas" is heart-wrenching and intoxicatedly addictive.
Like sprout bursts out from the soil and grows into a tree, our deepest fascination always started small and unnoticed. As time goes by, memories nurture and wrap around the tiny seed. It becomes inseparable from our life and identity, which we hold dear to our hearts. From Lil Wayne to hip hop music to its culture, Angelo's fascination with Houston, Texas, started from a young age. When the pandemic hit the economy and destroyed businesses and dreams, it pushed his dream further. From a place of longing and hope, Angelo went to the studio and wrote down "Houston Texas."
Characters and plots built upon the expansion of imagery, branching from the same emotional state, "Houston Texas" also translates to the longing for love. Contemplating past disappointments and encounters, life is a continuous motion of learning. The neglected wounds
still hurt from time to time. We bury our pain in parties and drinks, but at the end of the day, we long for a change.
Some things are better left unsaid. "Houston Texas" is reserved for a time alone.
