The crowd explodes as the lights drop and Jack Black and Kyle Gass aka Tenacious D take to the stage. Opening their set with the classic "Kickapoo", you can tell that this is going to be a night to remember.

The crowd burst in to the traditional Scottish chant of ‘here we, here we, here we f***ing go!’ to which Jack asks if we are chanting ‘Harry f***ing Styles’ which gets a good laugh from all.

The show is not without its theatrics, we have a giant inflatable devil behind the drum kit and a big robot which Jack and Kyle need to defeat during "The Metal". When the robot disappears after the song, Jack informs us all it is because it is going to battle other genres and taken on Drake & Kendrick Lamar at the same time!

Wondering how we move on from this, Jack exclaims a pallette cleanser is needed and they launch in to a Saxaboom. This involves Jack having a small toy saxaphone which entertains the crowd, before Kyle brings out a huge toy saxaphone - a Maxaboom - to rival it.

Jack and Kyle have an offstage meeting and their traditional "falling out" before Jack is left on stage for a solo rendition of "Dude (I Totally Miss You)". Kyle appears back for a guitar solo halfway through the song, and all is good with the Tenacious D world again!

Further on in the set there is an offstage meeting with both members again, in which they come back and inform the crowd they feel their guitarist is possessed by Satan. This leads in to "Beelzeboss (The Final Showdown)" which sees the aforementioned guitarist taking over the Satan parts of the vocals.

The main set is then closed off with "Double Team" before the band are back out for an encore which starts with "Throw Down".

We then get "Master Exploder" and at the end Jack shouts for pyro, but it does not go off. We then have "Biffy Pyro" out on stage for a telling off from the band, to which he lets us know he is nervous and is making mistakes. Jack tells him not to worry as they also get nervous, and they sing "The Spicy Meatball Song" to lift spirits.

The night is then ended with a superb rendition of "F**k Her Gently" which has lots of immaculate pyro at the end, so the lesson was learnt!

Tenacious D put on an amazing show and are definitely worth catching on tour when they come near you.
