Foster The People Releases “The Things We Do”.

“The Things We Do” is Californian band Foster The People’s brand new single.
It’s a really fresh song, with a rhythm that’s really similar to their last album Sacred Hearts Club. The single is very catchy and has a chorus that’s been stuck in my head from the first time I’ve heard it, and with amazing vocoder processed voices in the first verse and in the outro that make me think about the fact that the band is always testing new sounds, especially on voices.
My favorite part of the song is at 2:30, when there’s a little break with the song’s mood. There’s a bridge that’s a mix between Phil Collins/Genesis sound and Bowie (especially with their voices), there’s a sound that continues until the end of the song, passing through the outro that, as I said before, is characterized by amazing vocoder processed voices (yep, I’m a big fan of the experimentation of voices).
“The Things We Do” is a song that reminds me of everyday life, the morning commute to the office walking through the city, the Tube station, the people in the city. Even if it has been written in LA, it reminds me of London during summer. It’s surely a song that ‘We can play in the underground’…. but not only in the Underground.
