Tugging at our heartstrings, Reneé Rapp has done it again. With “Don’t Tell my Mom”, her third single of 2022, Rapp effortlessly connects to listeners through heart-wrenching lyrics about the struggles of communication and mental health and its effects on her loved ones, specifically her mother. Singing the all-too-relatable “so don’t tell my mom, I’m falling apart/she hurts when I hurt, my scars are her scars” over a bare piano instrumental, Rapp is sure to evoke a tear from even the most impassive of listeners.
The multi-hyphenate, fresh off filming a new season of the hit HBO Max show Sex Lives of College Girls, recently signed to Interscope Records and released her debut single “Tattoos” in May, along with follow-up single “In the Kitchen” in July, accumulating over 20 million streams across all platforms.
