“Nervous” opens with a billie-eilishesque melody and then breaks into a catchy beat reflecting the fight or flight you feel when thinking about taking the fall into a potential new relationship.
Kathleen Elle’s song is very catchy and her vocals are confident. She knows she can sing and shows it off-a nice juxtaposition to the substance of the song. There’s also just the right amount of background vocals to bring balance to the powerful main vocal.
The tune makes you want to dance, and the bridge nicely ties in the floaty melody and vocal effects from the opening few lines. Very well done and when the song ends, you just want to press ‘replay’!
