Kajo Explores ‘Cold Places’ with his Debut Album.

Def Jam signee Kajo has had his debut album released for a few days now, and unlike the title, it’s nothing but heat. Cold Places explores various types of cold places - some examples being through heartbreak, being trapped under freezing water, and tragic events.
There aren’t any specific genres to describe Kajo’s music. Originally from the Philippines, now in the US, he grew up listening to jazz and classical music. Beethoven being one of the first musicians he appreciated listening to.
Working on his craft for a while, Kajo tends to stick on his own path, and is aware that trends don’t tend to last. He mentioned the best advice another artist has given him is ‘don’t let great get in the way of good enough’. He emphasizes by saying ‘especially if you’ve worked on your craft, your good enough should be good enough’.
‘This is what it means to be a human, it’s to be something special in somebody’s eyes.’
Along with the hour long (but worth the listen) project, Kajo released a music video for the track “Ötzi”. The cold place in this song tells the story of Ötzi the Iceman, who lived between 3350 and 3105 BC but later discovered in 1991, in the Ötztal Alps.
Although no one knows the true events that happened to the Iceman, Kajo paints a picture of what could have happened. Taking his audience to cult-ish schemes, dangerous water temperatures, all through the Kajo History Channel.
Being so informed about music theory and anthropologic topics, I would be surprised to hear that you wouldn’t want to know more about him. We have just what you’re looking for. You can now watch our side interview with Kajo on our YouTube page.
