Jorja Smith Releases “Little Things”.

Written by Eva Lynch

Jorja Smith’s latest single “Little Things” is the third song off her upcoming album Falling or Flying, and follows the release of “Try Me” a few weeks earlier, and hint at the direction this new album may be taking. The evolution from Lost & Found to Be Right Back and now Falling or Flying, show Jorja’s turn towards experimenting with new beats and more up-beat or fast-paced, with her flow still as in sync as ever and vocals still full of feeling. The best way I could describe it would be up-tempo, jazz-inspired dance R&B, reminiscent of her Rose Rouge cover with Joy Orbison.

The song is contagious. With its catchy chorus, smooth melodies and hypnotizing beats, it’s hard to stay still when this comes on. Smith said that it’s pure fun, and speaks for itself -- that it's meant to convey that feeling of excitement when you walk into a party and find someone you’ve had your eye on in the crowd. Despite its high energy as a dance song, her vulnerability, the emotions and the personality she imbues into all her music continue to shine through and keep the song intimate, and hooks us in immediately.

If you’re looking to dance or let loose for the night, this is a song for you.
