Jocelyn Alice Speaks About Her Collab With Mathew V on Their New Single [Q&A].

The pop singer from Calgary has been putting out music for a few years now; two albums (Little Devil and How Dare You.) and countless of singles. Last month, she collaborated on a new single titled “Missing Me”, with fellow Canadian Mathew V. Along with the recent music video, the song tells the story of ending a relationship and wondering if the other person still misses you like you miss them.
So, you've teamed up with Mathew V on your newest single, what was working with Mathew like?
It’s always a dream getting to work with not only such an incredible vocalist, but also one of the warmest and sharpest humans I’ve ever met.
"Missing Me" is an upbeat break up song, about wondering if the other person in a relationship is missing them too, was it always the idea to make it an upbeat song, instead of a slow one, like other break up songs tend to be?
I’m always looking for juxtapositions in my music. I love mixing different genres. The sad dance song is my jam!!
You released a music video for the single as well, how did you come up with the idea of using the sort of the 'two sides of the story' scenario?
I had the idea of doing a split screen, inspired by the if the world was ending music video. But Emma is the mastermind. She’s so good at taking a simple idea and taking it to the next level.
You've released many singles since How Dare You., could we expect a new album soon?
Honestly, I could release four albums a year if it made sense. I write and record so much music. I will say I definitely don’t see myself slowing down anytime soon!
