Harry Leo Releases “Youthquake”.

“Youthquake”, the new song that was released on June 21st 2021 is a good song. Yes, I know that could sounds a little bit generic but hey, whether it’s a good or a bad song is for sure one of the first things I’d like to say to my readers (and there’s a guitar solo hehe, thanks Harry).
However, let’s talk a little bit about who is Harry Leo before going on with the song review.
During the first part (yep, sadly was only the first) of the pandemic in 2020, Harry, aged 22 from London, saw an opportunity to focus all his time and energy on making music. Great choice, mate!
This song is his debut single, and will also be included in a forthcoming EP. As said in the PR “The song focuses on the optimism and promise the younger generation has once they’re given the opportunity to shine, and the opportunity everyone will have after the events of the Coronavirus outbreak have subsided.” I feel you, Harry, we’re still hoping one day we’ll shine.
As I mentioned before, the song is a good one, pre chorus and chorus are already stuck in my head.
There are for sure lots of musical influences: Sam Fender, Tom Greennan, a little bit of One Direction and U2 (guitars reminds me a lot of U2 and sometimes The 1975). But also The Killers in the album Day & Age and Owl City. But I like the style, I really love how even if there are lots of reminders to other artists there’s still personality in this song.
In case you’re asking yourself, yep, I’ve saved the song on Spotify.
