girl in red, Norwegian singer that came smashing into the music scene with her hit single “i wanna be your girlfriend”, hits a homerun with her debut album if i could make it go quiet. She says the album is ‘me simply trying to understand what the fuck is going on’, and the album’s debut single goes to represent that one hundred percent. “serotonin” is co-produced by herself, FINNEAS, and Matias Tellez to create a brilliant interpretation of alternative pop with a nod toward pop-punk.

The chorus is a brutally honest confession of girl in red’s inner thoughts reflecting exactly what young adults struggle with. Lyrics read “I'm running low on serotonin/Chemical imbalance got mе twisting things/Stabilize with medicine/There's no depth to these feelings/Dig deep, can't hide/From the corners of my mind/I'm terrified of what's inside.” They show a vulnerability that a lot of people can relate to, which is part of girl in red’s superpower as a songwriter.

girl in red is a voice that can be related to across all types of backgrounds, which makes her music all the better to listen to. These shared experiences, matched with incredible music featuring brilliant production is the kind of music that we’ve been craving this year.
