Doechii Releases “Stressed”.

Florida-born rapper Doechii has been on a perpetual rise this year. Having gathered more popularity after her collaboration on “Persuasion” with SZA this summer, Doechii has just dropped her first single since signing onto Top Dawg Entertainment, and if it’s any indication of what will come next, it shows that there’s only more greatness to follow.
Her new single ‘‘Stressed,” which was first premiered on COLORS, shows off her talent as she creates melodic and catchy hooks, which are balanced by her fast flow which shows her amazing range. There is something hypnotic in how she navigates the procession of the song, speeding up to rap:
Sabotagin' me 'til I'm forced to rip the mask off
This lobotomy is just a reflection of the last loss
This body is in remembrance of the last lot
And this lady is too pretentious of the mascot
And look, I got a .22, I wouldn't call this bitch a catch-22
Her raw and layered locals will draw you in and keep you listening. It’s a vulnerable and relatable song which easily resonates with the audience, as everyone knows how stress can manifest and the trials of daily life. Her control on its energy makes me excited to see what’s next for Doechii and look forward to whatever it may be. If you like laid back yet energetic, melodic rap and R&B, this is one for you
