Charles Connolly Releases ‘You Tap And Unwrap Me’.

Interesting. Really interesting. Brand new Charles Connolly’s single ‘You Tap and Unwrap Me’ isn’t the classic pop song. It’s studied, elaborated and admirably arranged. It’s sooo fresh, Charles Connolly, known as CC, perfectly worked at the production and at vocals merging the old with the new.
The song, as said before, could be placed in the vast pop universe but it’s everything but trivial. There are a lot of 1920s similarities, mostly in the way that he uses the combination Piano/Voice at the beginning of the song, everything blended with a really fresh drum kit that drives the song to another level. If I close my eyes while listening to the song, I’d immediately begin to travel with my mind and I imagine being in a black and white Great Gatsby style party in 1924, in which at a certain point arrives Charles Connolly himself with an electric red and green scooter while singing. The Old with the New, The Classic with The Fresh. This is CC and we could listen to it also in ‘Never Said Goodbye’;, the other single that he has released.
The song’s lyrics are really melancholic, ‘You Tap and Unwrap me’, it’s a ballad about a woman who is lost and unhappy, but finds solace in one man only.
But my favourite thing in this song, obviously besides the fact, as said before, that merges old with new, is that he uses unconventional musical instruments, for example the Chinese violin that gives a great vibe to the song.
Oh, and at 2:20, there’s the electro beat / dubstep, BOMB! AMAZING.
Great job CC, we’re just waiting for your next songs!
