Bridal Party Release “Cool Down”.

Written by: Eva Lynch

Bridal Party is a dreamy indie pop band from Victoria BC, inspired by the sounds of artists like Japanese Breakfast and Steely Dan. Their latest single “Cool Down”, was released September 23rd and is the first single from the band since their album Too Much, released in 2019.

”Cool Down” deals with the feelings at the end of a party when it’s time to go home and you're reluctant to leave while also thinking back on and appreciating the happy moments and feelings from the night. With catchy, slightly psychedelic guitar riffs and echoes of an 80s synth sound, it’s a gentle song with danceable energy. The single manages to stay light and upbeat despite the tension and longing that fill the lyrics, saying, ‘I step into the quivering night/Hold my breath so I don’t cry/I don’t wanna cool down.’

Serving as the first taste of Bridal Party since their last album Too Much, fans are eager to see what else their new album will hold, which will be released sometime next spring, and should it channel the same energy as “Cool Down”, they’ll be in for a treat.
