Athanase Plays Their Dream Venue, and Kills it.

The folk/indie band from Hamilton, Ontario; Athanase, opened up for the Montreal band; The Holds, at Petit Campus on June 29 of 2019, in Montreal, Quebec, and I got the opportunity to catch the show!
The band opened their set with “Old Town”, their latest release, then jumped into “Times Like These”, and automatically grabbed the attention of the audience, with their amazing live presence and catchy songs. Jason, the lead singer and acoustic guitar player, mentioned in between songs that all the music they would play all original music - which made it even more authentic, because artists usually perform at least one cover during their set. He also said that he's always wanted to play this venue, when he lived down the street, it was for sure an accomplishment for them.
Athanase played 10 of their songs, some being from their debut EP, produced by Jordan Honsinger from Cold Creek Country. Aside from the lead singer impressing the viewers, Jake (lead guitar) amazed people with his guitar skills, as well as Olivia (bass guitar) and Levi (dummer), who both are so great at what they do - all of them make up the band and you could tell they love what they do. What's awesome about this group is that they could perform a slow song, right before an upbeat song, and still have the same amount of people dancing in the crowd.
