Aidan Bissett Talks New Single & Signing to Capitol Records.

Picture this, you’re scrolling through TikTok on a sunny afternoon, and you see an artist claiming to have made ‘the song of the summer’, all over your for you page. A bit later, that same artist you saw on your screen that one day, is now signed to one of the biggest record companies in the world. This was the case for the talented Aidan Bissett.
“I think TikTok is a great place to give smaller artists a chance to get all their music out into the world, without having to have a big marketing push behind them. Especially because I was making my music in my room, all I did to promote it was putting it on TikTok.”
Bissett started posting clips of “Communication” on the social media app early spring of this year, and it caught the attention of Capitol Records. The 18 year-old high school senior then signed to Capitol, worked with the talented Verzache on the song, and released “Communication” - and it is definitely the song of the summer.
“Prior to “Communication”, all three songs I did on my own, so any kind of collaboration was new territory for me. I love collaborating with other artists, so I was super excited when I got the text! I was a big fan of Verzache’s work beforehand, so when I got the text, I was like “… I’m sorry, who? {laughs}. It was so much fun working with him, we actually played PS4 together, before mixing tracks. Zach did an incredible job, he’s a music wiz, so working with him was an absolute blast.”
